A Little Interlude ...

I'd like to mention two tools that I've found to be extremely helpful. Maybe they'll help you too! The first is the Block Butler. I bought mine from Rooby at Web of Thread. I actually bought 2 - both 4' x 6' - and stuck them up on my interior office walls. They really work great - I like them much better than my old felt-covered pink styrofoam boards.

The other tool is the SewSlip - it sticks to my extension table (yet is removable) and has a silicone surface that reduces all drag when free-motion quilting. I know that this has helped my free-motion quilting tremendously.

Now, back to beading!

This Sew Slip sounds very useful. This weekend as I spent waaaay too many hours free motion quilting (ugh), I found that my fabric kept snagging on my table (previously used for much pounding and hammering). I had to put stickers over the snagging areas every time. Sew Slip...must try. Thanks.

I'm not a fan of the block butler...i purchased one for going on an art retreat thinking the portability would be great...but threads adhere to it and reduce the effectiveness of it. My piece kept falling off to the floor and it takes 2 people to efficiently put the clear cover back on for storing.

I'll add the sew slip to my wish list because I need all the help I can get with fmq.
