Mare Regina I (Sea Queen) - 1997

This quilt was made as a gift for my daughter (Mare Regina II is still in progress) and commemorates a season spent exploring her favorite spot – the ocean. She managed to spend two weeks at Acadia Institute of Oceanography, sail aboard the Harvey Gamage, and have a number of other ocean adventures. It was a Christmas present, and the last hand-quilting stitches were secured shortly after midnight.
