With September, "QuiltPages: A Page from my Book" officially comes to an end. I have named this piece "self-affirmation."

September brought the news that there would be a champagne reception for all participants in Houston during the Quilt Festival, that we would all be receiving ribbons, and would be able to vote for a number of categories. I was thrilled, especially since I will be attending the Houston Festival for the very first time this year, working in the Quilting Arts booth. I have a feeling that I already know what my October journal quilt will be about

Materials: Hand-dyed cotton and #12 perle cotton by ArtFabrik, silk dupioni, hand-dyed cheesecloth from the Artisan's Hand, hand-dyed silk chenille by Vikki Clayton, other designer fibers, Sulky rayon, Hanah bias ribbon.

Techniques: Raw-edge applique, couching, machine quilting, seed stitch embroidery.
